What can I expect during an acupuncture appointment?
When you come in, the veterinarian will ask you several questions about your pet including their medical history and their response to previous treatments. She may also ask you questions about your pets habits and personality. Next, she will perform a Traditional Chinese Medical examination. This includes evaluating your pet’s tongue and pulses. She will then be able to make an initial Chinese Diagnosis. Next, small needles will be inserted in points that will be selected based on your pet’s diagnosis. During the treatment, the veterinarian will periodically evaluate the pulses to assess the effectiveness of the treatment. When the treatment is finished, the needles will be removed.
