For years the standard of care in veterinary medicine has been yearly vaccinations. There is now some very convincing evidence that this may be both unnecessary and potentially harmful to your pet. Side effects of vaccines may include diarrhea, vomiting, skin sores, itching, coughing, gagging, eye and ear inflammation, behavioral changes, and organ or endocrine disorders.
The latest evidence indicates that the immunity gained from puppy and kitten shots may last for the lifetime of the pet and there is no need for additional vaccines. Most of the diseases we vaccinate against are seen primarily in young animals and not in healthy adults. The best way to keep your pet free of disease is to keep its immune system healthy and strong.
As an alternative to traditional vaccines, we offer nosodes. These are homeopathic oral vaccines that will offer protection without the potential side effects of traditional vaccines. Please know that certain boarding kennels and groomers will require proof of annual vaccinations and may not accept the nosodes. City and county governments will still require proof of Rabies vaccination in order to license your pet.

If your pet has had vaccines, an antibody titer will measure the current antibody level it has. This can give you peace of mind regarding your pet’s level of protection and may be accepted in lieu of vaccines at some facilities.

We also offer homeopathic remedies that help your pet process vaccines that are given, detoxify, and minimize side effects.
