Protein levels in food 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
I keep seeing the protein levels in the higher end foods like Orijen and a few others going up and up. I have also heard some conflicting information

For a large breed, active/performance dog (like my RR's) what would the recommended protein levels be ror puppies/yearlings vs. older dogs (younger "seniors")? Does it change with age?

Thanks for your question. My recommendations for protien vary according to the individual. Some dogs do very well on a high protein diet and others do very well on a low protein diet. Even within the same breed, there is great variance in individual dogs. Underlying health conditions can also change the recommended amount of protein. This same recommendations hold true for geriatric dogs and puppies.
